Every body has different types of smells, but sometimes the body produces an unpleasant odor. To avoid the body odor from making someone distance themselves from you, it’s important to know how to handle it delicately.
Causes of body odor:
Body odor is not always under our control due to factors such as puberty and stress. But what is within our control is to address personal hygiene issues if it’s caused by excessive sweating or poor body hygiene. Body odor is not limited to underarm odor, it can also be foot odor, mouth odor, groin odor, especially in women.
Here are some home remedies to reduce body odor:
Lemon water to reduce groin odor:
You will need about 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a bowl. Then, soak a cotton ball in the lemon juice and gently wipe the groin area and massage it for a few minutes. Finally, rinse with plain water.
You can also add about 2 drops of lemon essential oil to a cotton swab or cotton ball and follow the same procedure as above.
Apple cider vinegar underarm spray:
Apple cider vinegar can help exfoliate the skin as it contains alpha hydroxy acid, which acts as a chemical exfoliant and therefore, it can help remove dead skin cells.
Mix equal parts of rosewater and apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle and shake well before use. Spray this mixture on your underarms and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes.
Homemade mouthwash for bad breath:
Clove and ginger have antibacterial properties that can inhibit the growth of bacteria and improve oral health.
Boil cloves, ginger, and peppermint leaves for about 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it cool. You can store this mouthwash ready to use at room temperature or even in the refrigerator.
Apple cider vinegar bath to reduce groin odor:
Add about 200 ml of apple cider vinegar to a bathtub filled with warm water and soak for 15 to 20 minutes to let the apple cider vinegar take effect.
Detox body mask:
This detox mask removes dirt and impurities, giving you healthy skin.
You will need:
Bentonite clay: 2 tablespoons
Apple cider vinegar: 1 tablespoon
Water: 1 tablespoon
Mix everything together to make a smooth paste and apply it to your body. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse off.
Fill a half bucket with warm water, add ¼ cup of sea salt and 2 tablespoons of baking soda, then mix the water and soak your feet for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then use a pumice stone or foot brush to scrub the feet and rinse with clean water.
