In a recent interview with Vietnamnet, Kim Lý expressed his gratitude towards his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ngọc Hương: “First and foremost, I want to thank my mother-in-law, Mrs. Hương. She has been an amazing grandmother and mother-in-law, devoting her time to taking care of Lisa and Leon with love and dedication. Mrs. Hương is a strong, loving, and caring Vietnamese woman, and I am impressed by how hardworking and financially independent they are while still being family-oriented.”
“Hà has undoubtedly inherited many of her mother’s qualities, from her perspective on life to her dedication to family and attention to the smallest details. This has become a family tradition, and I am grateful and happy that Lisa is growing up in an environment that values family. I believe that both she and Leon will have happy families of their own by following the example set by their grandparents and parents.”
When Hồ Ngọc Hà started dating the Swedish man, Mrs. Ngọc Hương supported her daughter’s decision.
She had nothing but praise for her son-in-law: “Kim Lý is a kind and gentle man, and his parents are also virtuous and well-educated. I highly value that. Kim Lý is simple, honest, and straightforward. He is hardworking and especially loving towards my daughter. I think that’s enough for Hà.”
Kim Lý shared: “When I first came to Vietnam, I didn’t know any Vietnamese. But when I got to know Hà and lived with her family, I often had dinner with them. I always felt tense and nervous because I couldn’t converse with her family. So, I decided to learn Vietnamese. Pronunciation is very difficult, especially for a foreigner like me. Lisa also told me: ‘Dad, please speak in Vietnamese.’ Because she knew I couldn’t speak it fluently. So I asked her: ‘Can I speak in Swedish instead?’ But she insisted that I speak in Vietnamese.”
“I love spending time with my children. Before having kids, I wanted to have a big family. But after experiencing parenthood for three years, I understand the challenges. Hà is incredible. She juggles multiple jobs, but when she’s at home, she always cooks and takes care of Lisa and Leon. It’s not easy, and it takes a lot of effort. We always take the kids to school in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon. Lisa and Leon have many activities during the day, and we try to join them. I want to understand Vietnamese culture better, and I hope to live in Vietnam because I have my family and career here.”
Despite having two children together, the couple has not yet had a wedding ceremony. The singer, born in 1984, recently revealed that Kim Lý has expressed hopes of having a complete wedding next year: “He mentioned doing it next year, and I replied, ‘Let’s see how it goes.’ He said, ‘At least once in my life, I should be able to wear a groom’s outfit.’ So, we’ll see if Lisa and Leon make that request; if they do, we’ll make it happen.”
Earlier in 2022, Hồ Ngọc Hà took her family to Sweden to meet her in-laws. It was also the first time the twin siblings Lisa and Leon visited their paternal grandparents’ home since their birth.
