On the evening of September 9, Lan Phuong officially addressed the circulated photos of her quietly carrying her young daughter during a divorce court hearing. The actress shared that she had initially planned to take her daughter, Mia, to school before attending the trial, but as her youngest fell ill and couldn’t attend daycare, she decided to bring her along and also take her to the hospital for a check-up afterward. Lan Phuong added: “Anyway, as last night’s hearing was postponed, I only needed to be present this morning to receive the decision for the next trial.”

Lan Phuong, with a choking voice, said: “Holding Mia in my arms, I felt happy, as if the whole world and everything most meaningful in life were in my hands.”
When advised by her audience to authorize a lawyer to lessen her burden, Lan Phuong skillfully explained: “My lawyer is pregnant and has just given birth.” Many comments under the post offered words of encouragement to the actress: “I sympathize with the mother and child. Get well soon. Stay strong and overcome all challenges”, and “You must feel very lonely at times like these.”
Prior to this, Lan Phuong shared her journey of self-healing after her decision to divorce. First, it was about recognizing and acknowledging the problem. “It was truly painful to realize that the issue was complex and contradicted many values I had believed in throughout my life. My entire life, up until March of this year”, the actress confided.
The actress of Sunshine Comes mentioned that when she felt overwhelmed, she decided to consult a psychiatrist for treatment. “I was diagnosed with severe anxiety disorder and mild depression. I didn’t take any medication because I was breastfeeding my daughter. I also knew that even if I took medicine, as long as the source of stress remained, it would never truly go away; it would only be temporarily suppressed.” she wrote on her personal page.
Lan Phuong then went on to meet with three psychological therapists, as she already had a good understanding of her issues. “I only needed one session with each of them, but I still learned something valuable for my self-healing process”, she added.
Following this, she took time for herself by reading books, being patient, appreciating the good, and focusing on the present, including her children and work.
