The weather forecast for today predicts sunny skies across Northern Vietnam, including the North-Central region, while the area from Quang Tri to Ca Mau in the South can expect thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The Northern and North-Central regions are currently under the influence of a subtropical high-pressure system, which suppresses air movement, preventing the formation of clouds. This lack of cloud cover results in intense sunshine in these areas.

Areas north of Dong Hoi Ward in Quang Tri Province, up to the Northern region, will experience sunny weather, with temperatures surpassing 33 degrees Celsius. Some localities, such as Viet Tri Ward in Phu Tho Province, Pho Hien Ward in Hung Yen Province, and Hoan Kiem Ward in Hanoi, will bear the brunt of the heat, with temperatures climbing to 35-36 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead at the 10-day weather forecast, Northern Vietnam is expected to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms. Specifically, the Northeast region, including the provinces of Cao Bang, Bac Kan, and Ha Giang, will witness isolated thunderstorms during the nights and mornings of September 5-7. From September 9-13, scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated, with localized heavy rainfall.

From Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, scattered showers and thunderstorms are also in the forecast, with localized heavy rainfall, primarily during the late afternoons and evenings.

In the southern regions, from Quang Tri to Ca Mau, the afternoon thunderstorms are expected to continue. Some areas in the Central Highlands and the South are at risk of experiencing intense rainfall exceeding 90mm, which may lead to flash floods in urban and low-lying areas, as well as landslides and mudslides in mountainous regions.
