2. What is ePass? Where to attach ePass on the vehicle?

The ePass identification card is a card attached to the windshield or headlights of a vehicle, making it more convenient to travel through toll booths. The ePass card is equipped with a chip containing a code, storing information about the vehicle and owner.

It uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, so when a vehicle passes through a booth, it will automatically read the code and transmit information to the PC/PLC system to compare with the database to see if there is a match. Thanks to that, vehicles can pass through toll booths without stopping to pay as before.

To ensure the best operating efficiency, the supplier instructs two positions to attach the card as follows:

On the windshield: Specifically, on the inside surface of the glass, about 10cm from the bottom and 5cm from the right edge.
On the headlights: Ideally, on the right side of the driver’s seat or in the middle of the vehicle, away from the metal surfaces of the body.

3. How to attach the ePass card on the car windshield

To easily look up ePass accounts, you can attach the card to the windshield as follows:

Step 1: Use a damp cloth to clean the inside surface of the windshield next to the passenger’s seat. Then, either wait or use a dry, soft cloth to wipe it dry.

Step 2: Determine the position to attach the ePass card so that the card is about 10cm from the bottom edge of the windshield and 5cm from the right edge. You can use a ruler to align the position more accurately.

Note: Keep a distance of about 15-20cm from the glass surface to ensure safe and effective card attachment.

Step 3: Gently peel off the adhesive layer from the corner of the card, attach the card to the glass surface, and gently press it evenly with your hand to fully adhere the ePass card to the glass surface. Avoid wrinkling the card during the attachment process.

4. How to attach ePass on car headlights

Another convenient way to look up ePass accounts is to attach the card to the headlights as follows:

Step 1: Use a damp cloth to clean the surface of the right headlights next to the driver’s seat and wait for the surface to dry.

Step 2: Determine the position to attach the ePass card, ideally in the middle of the headlights and away from the metal of the vehicle body. Ensure that the adhesive side of the card is parallel to the ground.

Step 3: Gently peel off the adhesive from the corner of the ePass card and gently attach it to the surface of the headlights. Use your hand to press firmly on the edges of the card to remove air bubbles. Finally, press several times to ensure that the ePass card is firmly attached to the headlights.

5. How to register and attach ePass cards at Viettel Stores

To register for Viettel ePass cards, customers can directly contact the nearest Viettel Store branches (covering the entire country). Here, the staff will guide and support users in directly registering and attaching the card accurately.

For individual customers

Step 1: Prepare documents. Customers need to prepare relevant documents including ID card/citizen identification card (CCCD) or passport, vehicle registration papers, vehicle registration papers, and a front view photo of the vehicle with a clearly visible license plate.
Step 2: Individual customers go to the nearest Viettel Store to receive support and advice on registration and account opening.
Step 3: The staff at the store will advise and guide customers on the registration process and card attachment according to specific standards.

For business customers

Step 1: Prepare documents. Customers need to prepare documents including vehicle registration papers, vehicle registration certificates, a front view photo of the vehicle with a clearly visible license plate, along with ID card/CCCD/passport of the authorized representative.
Step 2: Customers go to the nearest Viettel Store to receive advice and support for account opening.
Step 3: The store staff will advise and guide customers on the card attachment according to specific standards.

6. Guide to online registration for non-stop toll ePass service

The registration process is as follows: Access the website: customer.epass-vdtc.com.vn → Fill in the required information → Select the option to receive card attachment at the store or at home → Select the desired card attachment time → Enter the OTP code sent to the registered phone number → Click the Receive button and wait for a call from the staff.

Detailed guide

Step 1: Access the website customer.epass-vdtc.com.vn on laptops, tablets, or mobile phones.

Step 2: Fill in the required information in the input fields (fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory, other fields can be skipped). Select the option to receive the card at home or at the store, then choose the verification method as required.

Step 3: Enter the OTP code sent to the registered phone number and then click Confirm.

Step 4: Wait for the appointment from the staff to receive the free card attachment at home.

Important note

Newly activated customers will be provided with a free ePass card and can use the non-stop toll service on roads. However, for customers who have applied for cards from the second time onwards, there will be a card issuance fee of 120,000 VND per card. Pay attention to attaching the Viettel ePass card in the correct position to ensure accurate recognition and scanning of the code. The recommended attachment positions include the inside of the windshield (on the passenger side) and the right side of the headlights.
Users should be aware not to let their accounts run out of money during use. According to regulations, if the vehicle does not have an ePass card or the card is automatically attached but there is not enough money in the account when passing through a booth, the vehicle owner will be fined from 1 to 2 million VND and have their driver’s license suspended for 1 to 3 months.
