Pillow hygiene
Pillows come into contact with sweat and bodily fluids on a regular basis, easily becoming dirty over time. Think about how you feel about your pajamas after it absorbs sweat after just one or two uses. Similarly, your sleeping pillow also needs to be cleaned properly.
For pillows with removable and washable cores, such as cotton or silk-filled pillows, you should wash them in the washing machine every 3 to 6 months.
If the pillow core is not suitable for machine washing, you can soak it in cold water for about 20 minutes, followed by warm water at 30 degrees Celsius with a mild detergent solution and soak for an additional 15 minutes, then use a soft brush to gently clean. Then, gently squeeze horizontally to remove water.
For pillows made from non-washable materials, the pillow core should be regularly exposed to sunlight to kill bacteria. Pillowcases should be washed every two weeks. Latex pillows should not be directly exposed to sunlight and should be stored in a dry place to prevent the growth of bacteria.
Mattress hygiene
Although the mattress may appear spotless on the outside, when you use a vacuum cleaner and then look at the amount of dust accumulated in the container, you will be surprised at the level of unexpected pollution. This can also be a cause for some people to develop allergy symptoms when they lie down, as invisible pollutants are often the dirtiest sources.
To maintain the mattress, you should vacuum it monthly to remove some of the dust and small particles embedded in the mattress surface.
In addition, when stains appear on the fabric surface of the mattress, using a fabric washing machine with a detergent solution will effectively remove them.
Cleaning the headboard, bed base, and cabinet base
Larger furniture pieces such as beds and wardrobes are often not easily moved, and cleaning the area underneath or around them can be a challenge if there are narrow gaps.
You can use a specialized brush for cleaning hard-to-reach crevices. The brush head is designed to be slim, allowing it to fit through gaps without having to move furniture, making it easy to clean hard-to-reach areas.
With its long and slim design, the tall head allows it to reach the surface of furniture, making it not only convenient but also effective in maintaining cleanliness for your home.
