This year, Hanoi’s 119 public high schools will enroll approximately 80,000 students in grade 10. Some public schools, including THPT Viet Duc, THPT Da Phuc (Soc Son), and THPT Thuong Tin (Thuong Tin), have increased their intake by 135 students compared to last year. Other schools such as THPT Tran Phu, THPT Kim Lien, THPT Yen Hoa, THPT Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, THPT Xuan Dinh, and THPT My Dinh have also raised their enrollment numbers by 90 students each.

On the other hand, THPT Phung Khac Khoan (Thach That) has witnessed the most significant decrease in intake, with 135 fewer students compared to previous years.

Hanoi is currently home to four specialized high schools: Hanoi – Amsterdam (Ams), Nguyen Hue, Chu Van An, and Son Tay. For the upcoming academic year, these schools plan to admit 2,730 specialized students combined.

This afternoon, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also announced the enrollment targets for the next academic year for 29 vocational and continuing education centers in the city. These centers are allocated a total of 270 classes and 12,080 students. The vocational and continuing education centers will conduct enrollment based on students’ academic and disciplinary records from lower secondary grades. Students can start submitting their applications to these centers from April 21st onwards.

Hanoi has finalized the dates for the grade 10 entrance exams, which will take place on June 7th and 8th, 2025.

The formula for calculating the admission score for grade 10 in Hanoi this year is as follows:

Admission Score = Math Score + Literature Score + Foreign Language Score + Priority Points (if any) + Incentive Points (if any)

This academic year, Hanoi has approximately 127,000 graduates from lower secondary schools, which is a decrease of nearly 6,000 students compared to the previous year.
