Photographer Vu Ngoc Thien, 35, traveled across Da Lat in October to capture the morning mist covering the city.

He woke up early and was at three hills in the city by 5:30 am: Da Phu (photo), Thien Phuc Duc, and Ngo Quyen.

“Hunting for mist in Da Lat is not as difficult as in Ta Xua. You just need to get up early,” said the photographer, who has chased sunrise scenes across Vietnam.

The morning mist blends with the clouds on Da Phu Hill on October 20.

Da Phu Hill is located in Ward 7, about 10 km from the center of Da Lat, and can be reached by motorbike to the foot of the hill. The best time to admire the beauty of the mist and clouds is from 5 to 6 am.

According to local people, the road to the top of the hill is challenging, so it is necessary to prepare a vehicle with a strong engine.

A moment of welcoming the new day on Da Phu Hill on the morning of October 20. At this time, the sunrise began to dawn, the mist gradually dissipated, and the sunlight shone through the clouds, revealing the lush rows of pine trees on the hill.

In addition to mist, Da Phu Hill is also a famous cloud-hunting spot, recommended by many tourists who have visited Da Lat.

At around 7 am, when the sun rose higher and the mist almost disappeared, a glimpse of Da Lat city below could be seen.

Along Da Phu Road in Ward 7, there are many eateries offering a variety of dishes, including Xiu Mai bread. Some addresses that tourists can refer to are Hang Restaurant, Ngon Xiu Mai Bread, Uyen Pho, and Dalat Eden Cafe – which offers both breakfast and coffee.

Ngo Quyen Hill (photo) is also a great spot for hunting clouds and mist.

The photo of Da Lat in the clouds was taken from the top of the hill at 5:30 am on October 15.

The hill is located in Ward 7, about 4-5 km from the city center. The road to the top is easier than Da Phu Hill. Although it possesses beautiful natural scenery and is considered the heart of Da Lat, this hill is less famous among tourists than other destinations in the city. However, it is one of the best places to enjoy the sunset in Da Lat.

The third place to hunt for autumn mist in Da Lat is Thien Phuc Duc Hill (photo taken at 6 am on October 10).

The hill is about 6 km from the city center, and the road to get there is quite challenging, according to many tourists. However, visitors will be rewarded with a cool and peaceful atmosphere.

As the shooting time was later than at the other hills, the mist on Thien Phuc Duc Hill had dissipated, unlike the thick mist on Da Phu or Ngo Quyen Hills.

From the top of the hill, visitors can see the majestic Langbiang peak hidden in the mist and other hills with undulating pine forests.

“You have to get up very early to hunt for the mist and get beautiful photos. But once you have them, you will feel that all your efforts are worth it,” Thien shared.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill is bare with many grass fields and pine trees, making it an ideal camping spot for tourists who want to hunt for mist, clouds, and sunrise.

As the sunrise got higher, the mist gradually dissipated on Thien Phuc Duc Hill, revealing the lush rows of pine trees on October 10.

“To choose a place with a sunrise that brings many beautiful and romantic emotions, I picked Da Lat,” the photographer shared.
