“Cool Day and Night” Destination in Quang Ngai: Campers and Cloud Hunters Rejoice

“Cool Day and Night” Destination in Quang Ngai: Campers and Cloud Hunters Rejoice

The weather here is cool and pleasant, with a landscape that retains its pristine beauty.

Surrounding the Bui Hui grassland are lush green hills that stretch endlessly, interspersed with valleys and vast meadows.

Thanks to its diverse terrain and open, cool atmosphere, even in summer, this location has become a favorite escape for many visitors, earning the nickname “grassland in the clouds.”

With its vast area, flat terrain, and expansive views in all directions, Bui Hui grassland is an ideal spot for weekend getaways, attracting visitors every weekend.

During a recent summer trip, Ms. Hoang Oanh from Hanoi and her family were impressed by the pristine, peaceful, and lush green scenery of Bui Hui grassland.

Ms. Oanh shared that the road to the grassland is paved with concrete, making it convenient for travel. Personal vehicles like motorcycles and cars can easily access the site.

“The scenery at Bui Hui grassland is truly stunning. My family arrived at sunset and was fortunate to witness a romantic twilight moment,” she recounted.

Located at an altitude of approximately 700 meters above sea level, Bui Hui grassland enjoys a cool climate, ideal for outdoor activities and exploration.

The road to the grassland includes several winding uphill and downhill sections but remains convenient for travel.

According to the Hanoi visitor, the weather during the day is pleasant, even when it’s sunny. By midday, the sun becomes stronger, but the evenings and nights are cool and breezy, perfect for overnight camping to catch the sunrise or cloud-hunt.

With her camping experience, Ms. Oanh’s family chose to camp overnight. They set up camp in a spacious grassy area, free of charge, and prepared their own food, drinks, and essential personal items.

Ms. Oanh mentioned that Bui Hui grassland offers on-site accommodation and dining services. For those without camping experience or looking to save time and effort, visitors can rent tents or enjoy local meals at affordable prices.

“Bui Hui grassland is vast, with a service area run by locals for camping and dining. Visitors can also camp independently in open areas to avoid crowds, especially on weekends.

Although we didn’t get to cloud-hunt, my family had a memorable time in the fresh, green atmosphere,” Ms. Oanh shared.

She also emphasized that visitors should preserve the landscape and protect the environment by not littering. When building campfires or cooking, choose suitable areas to avoid burning the grass.

As the destination is located at a high altitude, visitors should check the weather forecast before their trip, avoiding rainy days to ensure safety and a complete experience.

At night, the weather at the grassland is cool and pleasant, ideal for overnight camping.

Beyond camping, picnics, and cloud-hunting, visitors can also check-in at the dreamy purple sim hills. From June to August is the peak season for sim flowers.

From the grassy area, visitors can follow a single mountain trail for about 30 minutes to reach the Bui Hui sim hills.

In addition to the meadows and purple sim hills, Bui Hui grassland also features decades-old guava hills. Around March in the lunar calendar, the guavas ripen, filling the air with their fragrance. The fruits are as large as a thumb and hang heavily from the branches.

With its high altitude, this location is also a unique cloud-hunting spot favored by many travelers.

On clear, sunny days, the white clouds float like a sea. Many visitors compare the cloud sea at Bui Hui grassland to the famous cloud-hunting spots in northern Vietnam, such as Ta Xua and Y Ty.

Additionally, visitors can explore the culture and cuisine of the local H’re community or try famous Quang Ngai dishes like Tra River fish with pepper, grilled ram meat, fish noodle soup, snail salad, smashed rice paper, and Tinh Khe pancakes.
