Google was founded on September 4, 1998. Before 2006, Google didn’t have an official birthday. However, Google started celebrating its birthday on September 27 from 2006 onwards. This is because the first-ever Google Doodle birthday was used on this date back in 2002.
Google Doodles are the fun, temporary alterations of the Google logo, created to celebrate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures. On September 27, 2023, the Google Doodle team marked Google’s 25th birthday with an animated design, taking us back to the early days of the search engine giant.
The Google Doodle team shared the following about Google’s 25th birthday: “Today’s Doodle celebrates 25 years of Google. While we’re always looking to the future at Google, birthdays are also a time to reflect on the past. Let’s take a moment to look back at how it all began, 25 years ago”.
Google is a multinational technology company, founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were students at Stanford University. What started as a search engine, soon evolved into one of the world’s leading technology companies.

“A lot has changed since 1998 – including our logo, as seen in today’s Doodle – but our mission remains the same: to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Billions of people from around the world use Google to search, connect, work, entertain and more!” Google emphasized its mission.
Every year in September, Google creates special Doodles to commemorate its founding. Over the past 25 years, Google has crafted unique Doodles to mark its birthday, creating a sense of celebration and festivity.
