Is Northern Vietnam Bracing for Widespread Cold and Rain?

The latest weather forecast predicts a brief period of warm weather for Hanoi and the northern region over the next two days, before a cold front brings cooler temperatures and rain. During this interim period, daytime temperatures will peak at a pleasant 24 to 28 degrees Celsius.

Before the arrival of the new cold air mass, the early morning in Hanoi and other Northern provinces maintained a foggy weather, with some localities experiencing thick fog. During the day, the sky was cloudy with mild sunshine.

The highest temperature in Hanoi and other major cities fluctuated between 24-28 degrees Celsius, while Ha Giang and Lao Cai recorded slightly lower temperatures of 22-23 degrees Celsius.

According to weather forecasts, a strong cold air mass from the North will reach Vietnam by the evening of December 6 and the morning of December 7. Consequently, from the night of December 7, Hanoi and many Northern provinces will experience scattered light rain, with a significant drop in temperature.

In the Central region, from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, the sky will be cloudy, with occasional rain in the North and scattered rain in the evening and at night in the South. The early morning will feature mist and light fog, transitioning to reduced clouds and sunny spells in the afternoon.

The Southern region will continue to experience unusual rainy weather due to the equatorial low-pressure trough and the upper-level Easterly wind. The rain is expected to occur in the afternoon and evening, with coastal areas in the East and West of the South more prone to rainfall. Some localized areas may experience moderate to heavy rainfall.

The Central Highlands region will remain relatively dry, with cities like Kon Tum, Pleiku, Gia Nghia, and Buon Ma Thuot enjoying sunny skies and pleasant temperatures, mostly below 28 degrees Celsius.

According to weather forecasts, Northern Vietnam will experience warm temperatures before the arrival of the cold air mass, which will bring rain and colder weather.

Light wind. Cool temperatures in the morning and at night, with cold weather in some mountainous regions. Lowest temperature: 18-21 degrees Celsius, and 14-17 degrees in mountainous areas. Highest temperature: 24-27 degrees Celsius.

Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue: Mostly cloudy, with occasional rain in the North and scattered rain in the South during the evening and at night. Light wind. Cool temperatures in the North during the early morning and at night. Lowest temperature: 19-22 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 25-28 degrees Celsius.
