How to activate the Messenger App Lock feature
First, to do this feature, you need to ensure that the Messenger app is up to date.
Step 1: Access the Messenger app > Tap on the 3 horizontal lines icon in the top left corner > Tap on Settings with the gear icon.
Step 2: Tap on Privacy and Safety > Select App Lock.
Step 3: Toggle on ON at the Require Face ID/Unlock with biometrics section to complete.
Note:
- When you enable this feature, you’ll need Face ID, passcode/biometric data to unlock Messenger. You can still reply to messages from notifications and answer calls when Messenger is locked.
- Facebook, Inc. does not receive or store your Face ID. You can change this option anytime in your device settings.
