Covering an area of over 50,000 hectares, with more than 80% of its land covered in lush forests, Jiuzhaigou is a scenic tourist attraction formed on sedimentary karst mountains.

Singer Phuong Linh recently took a trip to this place, known as “paradise on earth” in China.

One of the most distinctive features of Jiuzhaigou that visitors must not miss is its 114 large and small lakes and 17 rapids and waterfalls. Moreover, there are three valleys in the shape of the letter Y, named Ritz Gou, Zechawa Gou, and Shuzheng Valley. It is also a conservation area with a large number of rare flora and fauna, including pandas, golden monkeys, leopards, white-lipped deer, lynx, and various bird species.

The ideal time to visit Jiuzhaigou is during autumn, when the valleys transform into a breathtaking natural painting with red, yellow, and orange hues intermingling with crystal-clear lakes, creating a captivating landscape. The autumn weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 19 to 22 degrees Celsius, making it perfect for sightseeing and exploration.

Spring is also a good time to visit Jiuzhaigou, as the vegetation turns lush and green, and flowers bloom everywhere, accompanied by comfortable weather.

What Makes Jiuzhaigou So Fascinating?

Shuzheng Valley

Shuzheng Valley, the northern branch of Jiuzhaigou, boasts picturesque landscapes with meandering mountains, majestic waterfalls, and serene forests. It offers numerous photo opportunities and is ideal for leisurely strolls, trekking, or simply immersing yourself in nature.

The lakes in Jiuzhaigou are renowned for their crystal-clear waters all year round.

Zechawa Valley

Zechawa Valley is home to the largest and highest lake in the entire Jiuzhaigou area, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,100 meters. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, creating a majestic and breathtaking natural scenery. The lake’s water is a deep blue, and from above, one can glimpse the lake bed due to the exceptional clarity of the water.

Additionally, visitors can explore Five-Color Lake, which, despite its small size, captivates with its changing colors throughout the day. Depending on the sunlight, the lake’s waters shift from azure to emerald and sometimes take on a hint of yellow.

During autumn, the trees in Jiuzhaigou undergo a colorful transformation, creating a vibrant natural painting.

Beyond the crystal-clear lakes, there is also a vast grassland with lush greenery surrounded by towering mountains. This spot is ideal for soaking in the natural scenery and enjoying a peaceful, spacious atmosphere.

Featured in the childhood classic movie “Journey to the West,” Pearl Shoals Waterfall (Nuorilang Waterfall) stands at a height of 24.5 meters and spans 270 meters wide. It was selected by China National Geography magazine as one of the six most beautiful waterfalls in China.

The water cascades down the limestone surface, creating a frothy, white foam that resembles shimmering pearls. Illuminated by sunlight, the waterfall reflects a dazzling, ethereal light.

Pearl Shoals Waterfall captivates not only with its powerful and clear waters but also with the soothing sound of rushing water, creating a sense of tranquility and peace for visitors.

Cuisine of Jiuzhaigou

When visiting Jiuzhaigou, in addition to exploring the majestic natural scenery, visitors should not miss the opportunity to indulge in the region’s unique culinary specialties. The harmonious blend of robust and spicy flavors with traditional dishes creates an irresistible appeal.

Yak Meat

This is one of the most prominent specialties of Tibet and Jiuzhaigou. Yak, a highland animal, provides meat that is not only delicious but also highly nutritious. Yak meat is prepared in various ways, including hotpot, barbecue, stew, or stir-fry with vegetables. Dried yak meat is particularly popular and makes an excellent souvenir for tourists.

For Tibetans, yak meat is considered a treasure, valued for its health benefits and ability to boost the immune system.
