
Hương Tích Temple, nestled in the Hong Linh mountain range in Thien Loc Commune, Can Loc District, Ha Tinh Province, is intimately associated with the legend of Princess Dieu Thien. The daughter of King So Trang Vuong, she is said to have attained enlightenment here and transformed into Quan Am Buddha, saving sentient beings.
During the first days of the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country flocked here to welcome the spring, enjoy the scenery, and pray for peace and prosperity.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Head of the Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area, shared that during the first days of the year, the tourist area welcomed more than 25,000 visitors. “With careful preparation and ensured security and order, a large number of pilgrims and tourists arrived safely. Each day, we received 2,000-3,000 visitors, and on the opening day, there were up to 8,000 visitors. People came to the festival without any incidents of crowding or begging, and all soliciting activities were strictly controlled,” Ms. Ha informed.
Services such as boat rides across Ho Nha Duong, electric cars to the cable car station, and the cable car itself were utilized to their full capacity to serve the tourists.
According to the monument management unit, the busiest time for visitors to worship and enjoy the scenery at Huong Tich Temple is from 10 am to 2 pm. “Due to the rainy and cold weather this year, we arrived earlier than usual. The road to the temple is now better supported with various means of transportation, making it easier to visit and enjoy the scenery than before,” shared Mr. Thanh, a 38-year-old resident of Ha Tinh city.
Visitors to Huong Tich Temple usually prepare their own offerings and incense for praying for peace or writing petitions. They can also purchase offerings at the stalls at the foot of the temple.
At the National Historical and Artistic Architectural Relic of Cho Cuoi Temple (also known as the Temple of Mr. Hoang Muoi in Xuan Hong Commune, Nghi Xuan District), thousands of visitors also came to worship and pray for peace and prosperity during the first days of the year.
Cho Cuoi Temple has nearly 20 altars, including the altar of the Holy Mother, the altar of Ngu Vi Ton Ong, the altar of Mr. Hoang Muoi, the altar of Co Chin, and the altar of Chau Muoi, all of which were packed with people offering prayers and gifts. The management unit has also arranged staff to guide visitors in preparing and offering incense to ensure order and security at the temple.
A representative of the Management Board of Public Services and Tourist Sites of Nghi Xuan District shared that during the first days of the year, Cho Cuoi Temple welcomed more than 25,000 visitors. Security and environmental sanitation were well-maintained to ensure a pleasant experience for pilgrims and worshippers.
The temple’s donation money is carefully monitored and recorded by a team established by the management unit. In 2024, the amount of donation money from Cho Cuoi Temple that was submitted to the state budget exceeded VND 25 billion, which is ten times higher than the amount submitted by the previous incense-receiving team.
At the Ngã Ba Đồng Lộc Special National Relic Site, located on the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road in Đồng Lộc town, Can Lộc District, thousands of visitors from across the country also came to celebrate the new year, visit, and pay tribute to the ten heroic martyrs.
Mr. Dang Quoc Vu, Head of the Management Board of the Ngã Ba Đồng Lộc Special National Relic Site, shared that from the At Ty Lunar New Year to the present, they have welcomed nearly 20,000 visitors to pay homage and offer incense.
“To ensure the safety and comfort of visitors, our unit has arranged for officers, employees, and laborers to be on duty throughout the holiday. We want people not only to come here to offer incense and visit this ‘red address’ but also to discover the beautiful scenery and have meaningful spring vacation days,” Mr. Vu informed. The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism reported that during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, Ha Tinh welcomed more than 292,000 visitors, an increase of 81% compared to the same period in 2024. Among them, more than 24,000 were staying guests, with an average room occupancy rate of 58%.
