During the day, the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam – operates as usual, with regular ticket sales. However, in the evenings these days, the site offers free entry for a unique experience. Visitors have the chance to embark on a “time-travel” journey, immersing themselves in innovative technology and the captivating 3D mapping performance, “Essence of Academicism.”

A Cultural Journey through Hanoi’s Old Quarter

While the evening tour at the Temple of Literature is a limited-time offer, a diverse range of cultural activities in Hanoi’s Old Quarter will continue throughout May 2025, offering a relaxed exploration for young explorers.

These cultural initiatives celebrate significant milestones: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 139th anniversary of International Workers’ Day, the upcoming 71st anniversary of the Victory at Dien Bien Phu, and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. Organized by the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, these events enrich the historical and cultural fabric of the city.

The Information and Culture Center at Ho Guom Lake hosts a photo exhibition titled “Memories and Legends” from April 25 to May 25. The exhibition “Discovering Heritage” takes place from May 8 at the ancient house located at 46 Hang Bai – 49 Tran Hung Dao Street.

At Kim Ngan Communal House, visitors can explore the exhibition on bamboo and rattan weaving, titled “Made of Tre,” until April 28. The Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center introduces the mother-of-pearl inlaying craft of Chuyen My and offers workshops until May 22. Additionally, a propaganda poster exhibition is on display at the Cultural and Arts Center (22 Hang Buom) until May 31.

The exhibition “Song of Peace” at Hoa Lo Prison Relic debuted on April 23 and will run until May 31, offering a unique perspective on history.

All these exhibition and experience venues are popular hotspots among Hanoi’s youth, providing opportunities for both cultural exploration and trendy check-ins. Additionally, special exhibitions and activities are taking place at the Hanoi Museum, the National History Museum, and the Hoa Lo Prison Relic to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South.
