Apple’s newest smartphone, the iPhone 16e, is a powerful device that showcases the company’s latest innovations. It features the Apple A18 chip, which enables a range of AI capabilities, and is the first Apple product to use the in-house designed Apple C1 mobile modem, offering 5G connectivity.

The iPhone 16e sports a familiar design, resembling the iPhone 13 with thicker bezels than the iPhone 16 Pro. It retains the classic “notch” design instead of the Dynamic Island feature. The 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display is a standout feature, and the device is the first “affordable” iPhone to offer Face ID, replacing the previous fingerprint sensor. The iPhone 16e also introduces an Action button, a departure from the traditional switch found on older models.

This iPhone model has rounded corners and a square-edged aluminum frame, with IP68 water and dust resistance. Although it has a single camera, Apple refers to it as a “two-in-one” system due to its 48-megapixel Fusion sensor, which enables 2x telephoto zoom-like photography.

Apple has not disclosed the battery capacity, but claims that the iPhone 16e offers the best battery life among 6.1-inch iPhone models, lasting up to 6 hours longer than the iPhone 11 and a remarkable 12 hours more than previous iPhone SE models. This addresses a common pain point for users who valued the compact size of the SE but desired better battery performance. The iPhone 16e supports wireless charging and adopts the universal USB-C standard for wired charging.

Despite its “affordable” positioning, the iPhone 16e impresses with its top-tier performance, thanks to the latest Apple A18 chip. This 6-core processor offers an impressive 80% performance boost over the A13 Bionic, enabling high-end gaming and advanced ray tracing capabilities. The 16-core Neural Engine has been optimized for larger generative models and runs machine learning tasks up to 6 times faster than its predecessor.

The iPhone 16e comes in two classic colors, white and black, and offers storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, starting at VND 16.99 million. Apple also offers a range of colorful cases, priced at VND 1.2 million each. Pre-orders begin on February 28, with the iPhone 16e hitting shelves in Vietnam on March 7, making it one of the first markets in the world to receive this highly anticipated device.
