Orange and Tangerine Peels

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, orange and tangerine peels are believed to have an uplifting aroma that stimulates the nervous system, enhancing one’s mood and reducing stress. This effect is attributed to a compound called limonene, which is found in the peels of citrus fruits and is known for its brain-relaxing properties. By inhaling the scent of these fruits, one can calm their nerves, alleviate stress, and ultimately, fall asleep more easily and peacefully.

The fragrance of orange and tangerine peels also acts as a natural deodorizer, eliminating unpleasant odors and mustiness in the room. To some extent, the aroma of these citrus fruits can stimulate the senses and improve digestion as well.

Additionally, the essential oils present in these peels are excellent at repelling mosquitoes.

Placing orange, tangerine, or salted lemon peels at the bedside is a great way to unwind and relax. These fruits are also believed to ward off bad luck and invite good fortune into the home.

Lemon and Salt

In the practice of Feng Shui, lemons and salt are considered powerful tools for dispelling negative energy and attracting good luck and prosperity. The scent of lemons is soothing to the mind, promoting restful sleep. Combining lemons with salt creates a purifying effect, enhancing the air quality and creating an unfavorable environment for mosquitoes.

Take one or three lemons (always an odd number) and cut them into quarters without fully detaching the pieces. Place the lemons on a clean plate and sprinkle salt inside the lemons and around the plate. Position the plate of lemons and salt by your bedside or under your bed before sleeping. In the morning, dispose of the lemons and salt in a black plastic bag and remove them from your home. This folk practice is believed to enhance both physical health and financial abundance.

Garlic

Garlic possesses antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, and it is believed that keeping garlic in the bedroom can purify the air and promote better health and sleep quality. Additionally, the strong odor of garlic acts as a natural repellent for insects like flies and mosquitoes, ensuring they don’t disturb your sleep.

In Feng Shui, garlic is considered a symbol of good luck, believed to ward off bad dreams and negative energies. Placing a clove of garlic at the head of your bed is thought to invite peaceful sleep and protect against nightmares.
