The Con Go fish market, according to local residents, has existed for hundreds of years. Every early morning, even before the break of dawn, traders and locals flock to buy seafood. Tourists staying at the Thien Cam beach resort often visit to buy fresh seafood as gifts.

As early as 3 am, when the sky is still dark, boats consecutively dock at Con Go after a night of fishing in the open sea. Due to silted channels, boats cannot get too close to the shore and have to stop 30-40 meters away, then use smaller boats to transport the seafood to land.

When the boats arrive with their fresh catch, the market becomes lively. The sounds of trading, haggling, and laughter fill the air. Here, traders wear headlamps or use their phone flashlights to inspect and negotiate with fishermen for the freshest seafood. Most of these traders are women from the surrounding towns and villages of Cam Xuyen district.

Many traders have established relationships with the boat owners, so they quickly purchase the seafood and transport it in refrigerated trucks to nearby markets such as Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha, and neighboring districts.

To maintain the freshness of the seafood, the market only operates for a few hours, usually wrapping up by 6 am. After the market disperses, the fishermen clean their equipment and prepare for their next voyage in the afternoon.

Seafood at the market is bought at reasonable prices: squid ranges from 200,000 to 450,000 VND/kg, shrimp from 120,000 to 450,000 VND/kg, and whelk at 250,000 VND/kg. Many tourists visit the market to experience and purchase the exceptionally fresh seafood.

Additionally, the market attracts locals, restaurant owners from the Thien Cam resort area, and tourists who come to buy fresh seafood like squid, fish, shrimp, crab, and shrimp, caught the same night. Among the favored seafood options, squid remains a popular choice for many customers.

The Con Go fish market is not only a bustling trading hub but also a unique experience for tourists as it is located near the Thien Cam beach resort. Many hotels in the area even offer electric shuttle services to take guests to the fish market in the early morning. Visitors often take souvenir photos, capturing the lively scene of the market as a beautiful memory of Thien Cam.
