Camera Functionality
One of the most popular features of the volume buttons on your phone is their ability to act as a shutter release for the camera. When you’re in photo or video mode, you can start capturing by using the volume buttons instead of tapping the on-screen shutter button.
Note that to use this feature, you may need to go into your camera app’s settings and enable the option to take pictures with the volume buttons.

Quick Screenshot
When using your phone, if you want to take a quick screenshot, simply press and hold the power and volume down buttons simultaneously. The screen will be captured without having to access the control center.
E-book Page Turning
While reading e-books on your phone, you can use the volume buttons to turn the pages automatically. There’s no need to touch the screen to swipe through the pages. Note that this feature may vary depending on the e-book reader app and the type of phone you’re using.
Muting Incoming Calls
During busy work periods, meetings, or discussions with clients, you may have experienced the sudden intrusion of a ringing phone. To quickly mute the ringtone without rejecting the call, simply press and hold the volume down button. You can then decide how to handle the call based on the situation.
Similarly, you can press the volume down button to mute alarms or other notifications. A simple press of this button will stop the sound from playing without disrupting your workflow.
Muting incoming calls during busy work periods or meetings is easily done with the volume buttons.
Turning Off the Flashlight
The flashlight feature on your phone is handy when you’re out in the dark, but instead of unlocking your screen and swiping to turn it off, a quick double-press of the volume down button will do the trick. However, not all phones have this feature enabled by default.
Adjusting Phone Volume
Instead of opening the sound settings on your phone, you can quickly adjust the ringtone volume by unlocking your screen and pressing the volume up or down buttons.
