This year’s festival, compared to previous editions, was held during the Mid-Autumn Festival and featured decorations such as star lanterns and lion heads, creating a novel and attractive ambiance that captivated families, especially children. Children not only got to participate in Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations but also had the opportunity to learn about cats and explore the world of these friendly pets that hold a special place in many families.

The young visitors were thrilled to see the cats at the festival.

The event aimed to encourage a love for pets, especially cats, and teach children how to care for and cherish their furry friends. Ms. Nguyen Kieu Ngoc, President of the Vietnam Cat Club, shared: “The festival is not just a cat competition but also an opportunity for families, especially children, to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival and bond over their love for pets.”

Highlighting Activities at the Festival

This year’s Mid-Autumn Cat Festival offered a range of engaging activities, with the International CFA Cat Exhibition being the main attraction. This exhibition brought together purebred cats from all over the world, judged by international experts. The competition featured captivating performances, allowing attendees to admire the beauty and diversity of the different cat breeds.

The Domestic Cat Competition was another significant highlight, where non-purebred cats showcased their health and adorable looks. This competition provided a platform for families to introduce their beloved pets, creating a joyful, intimate, and friendly atmosphere.

Additionally, the product display area dedicated to cats also attracted attention, featuring unique products from reputable brands such as Whiskas and Do Do Petshop. These brands offered meaningful gifts to the attendees, enhancing their festival experience.

Purpose and Significance of the Festival

The Mid-Autumn Cat Festival was more than just a gathering for cat lovers; it held a deeper meaning of family bonding. Being held during the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Vietnamese holiday, the event created an opportunity for families to come together, participate in activities, and strengthen their bond with their pets.

Ms. Nguyen Kieu Ngoc, the organizer, shared: “We hope that through this festival, children will not only have fun but also learn to love, care for, and respect animals, especially cats, who are important members of many families.”

Beyond the competitions, the festival aimed to spread the culture of loving and caring for pets within the community. With the growing number of cat owners in Vietnam, the event served as a platform to convey responsible cat care, protection, and nurturing messages.

Participants had the chance to learn from professional breeders and gain insights into different cat breeds, thereby raising awareness about cat health, nutrition, and proper care.
