Ca Sang is the name locals use to refer to this pagoda. Its official name is Seray Cro Sang, which means “The Dawn of the Mangrove Tree”. The pagoda was constructed in 1775 using locally available materials such as wood and leaves. It was later renovated thanks to the contributions of the local community.

As a result, the pagoda now looks more spacious and magnificent, serving as a venue for religious ceremonies. Moreover, during the anti-American resistance war, Ca Sang Pagoda also served as a base for revolutionary activists.

It also contributed to the Khmer people’s struggle against the oppression of the pro-American regime during the same period. On May 12, 2004, the Chairman of the Soc Trang People’s Committee recognized Ca Sang Pagoda as a provincial-level revolutionary relic to honor and remember its contributions to history.
