To honor the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the national liberation movement in colonial countries, Angola named its largest and most beautiful avenue in the capital city of Luanda as Avenida Ho Chi Minh – the Ho Chi Minh Avenue. The avenue connects to the October Revolution Street and leads to the Luanda Airport. The Ho Chi Minh Monument was inaugurated on May 18, 1990, in Moscow, Russia, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth.
