  • 1kg of wild crab
  • 600g of cartilage ribs
  • 800g of beef corn
  • 1kg of fresh noodles
  • 10 sheets of tofu
  • 300g of dried bean curd
  • 5 tomatoes
  • 2 dry onions
  • 1 stalk of ginger
  • 1 bunch of scallions, cilantro
  • Accompanying raw vegetables: Split water spinach, banana flowers, lettuce, perilla leaves, basil, bean sprouts…
  • Spices: Cooking oil, vinegar, fish sauce, soup powder, seasoning powder, satay sauce, shrimp paste, lime, chili.

Steps to Make Crab and Beef Hotpot:

Step 1:

First, peel the dry onions, chop them finely. Peel the ginger, rinse it and cut it into small threads. For the tomatoes, rinse them and cut them into wedges. As for the scallions and cilantro, pluck and rinse them, then chop them finely and put them in a bowl.

Step 2:

Next, pick the accompanying raw vegetables, soak them in diluted saltwater, then remove them to drain. As for the banana flowers, slice them thinly and soak them in water mixed with a little vinegar or lime juice to prevent browning.

Step 3:

After that, rinse the cartilage ribs, blanch them briefly. Then, stir-fry the ribs with ½ sliced purple onion and a spoonful of fish sauce to make them more flavorful, and then simmer them until tender.

Next, clean the wild crabs, peel them, and place the crab meat in a small bowl. Then, add a spoonful of salt and crush or grind the crabs and strain the liquid.

Afterwards, bring a pot of water to boil with a spoonful of soup powder, a spoonful of shrimp paste, stir well, and simmer with high heat. When the crab meat floats to the surface of the pot, reduce the heat, scoop out the crab roe and place it in a bowl.

Then, heat a pan with a spoonful of cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add a few slices of dry onion and stir-fry until fragrant, then add the crab meat and a little fish sauce and stir-fry until cooked, then transfer to a bowl.
