1 Soak White Clothes for 2 Hours Before Washing

For white clothes, soak them in detergent or dish soap for about 2 hours before putting them in the washing machine. Both detergents and dish soaps contain hydrocarbon and alkali compounds, which are powerful cleaning agents. However, they need time to effectively loosen and remove stubborn stains.

2 Use Aspirin

According to Cleanipedia, aspirin, also known as acid acetylsalicylic, is not only effective for pain relief, fever reduction, and anti-inflammatory purposes, but it can also clean and remove stains from white clothes.

Dissolve 4-5 aspirin pills in 6-7 liters of warm water and soak your clothes overnight for 6-8 hours. Make sure the clothes are fully submerged in the water to optimize the cleaning effect.

3 Pour Vinegar into the Washing Machine

The main component of vinegar is acetic acid, which helps break down old stains on white clothes. Before starting the washing machine, pour 1 cup of vinegar into the drum.

Note: Only use this method when washing all-white clothes to avoid color bleeding onto other garments.

4 Soak Clothes in Hot Lemon Water

Bring about 5 liters of water to a boil in a large pot. Cut 2 lemons into thin slices and add them to the pot. Turn off the heat and soak your white clothes in the lemon water for about 1 hour before washing them as usual.

The hot water will help loosen stubborn stains, while the acids in the lemons will further clean and remove any remaining dirt.

5 Wash Clothes with Baking Soda

To enhance the brightness of your white clothes, you can use baking soda in addition to the above methods. Baking soda is a powerful whitening and cleaning agent.

Mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda with ¼ cup of water. Use a brush to apply this mixture onto yellow stains, let it dry for about 1 hour, and then wash the clothes with detergent.

Alternatively, you can soak your clothes in water and then add baking soda to the soaking water. Soak for 10-15 minutes and then wash with detergent. You can also mix it with lemon juice for better results.

6 Remove Stains with Potato

Potato is a common and easily accessible ingredient in your kitchen, and it can effectively remove yellow stains from clothes.

Simply cut a raw potato into slices and rub them onto the stains. Then, soak the clothes in water for 10-15 minutes and wash them as usual to completely remove the stains.

7 Use Lemon and Vinegar

This is a popular method to clean white clothes. Rinse and squeeze out the excess water from the clothes. Then, rub a lemon onto the stains.

Next, prepare a mixture of vinegar and warm water and soak the clothes in it for about 3-4 hours. Finally, wash the clothes with water or detergent, and they will be as good as new.

8 Use Hydrogen Peroxide and Detergent

For this method, prepare 125ml of hydrogen peroxide and 50ml of detergent. Mix them in a bucket of warm water. You can adjust the quantities depending on the number of clothes you’re washing.

Soak the white clothes in the mixture for about 5 minutes, and then rinse them with water. To get rid of the smell of hydrogen peroxide, use a fabric softener during the rinse cycle.
