Away from the hustle of social media, the wife of renowned director Bui Thac Chuyen chooses a simpler life: gardening, eating homegrown vegetables, and embracing the sun, wind, and soil. Her modest garden not only provides her with essential vitamins but also inspires others to embrace a greener lifestyle.

The artist proudly shows off her vitamin-rich harvest of lush green star fruits, their branches drooping with the weight of the ripe fruit. This is a garden anyone would desire.

Under the bountiful pomelo tree, artist Tu Oanh, dressed casually and wearing gloves, carries a basket of freshly picked fruit, her smile reflecting the joy of labor. She regrets the fruit lost to the rain, evident by the fallen, withered pomelos.

Who would have thought that this lady could grow such a massive gourd? She beams with joy as she holds the heavy gourd in her arm. “Mother Bich” quips: “I intended to let it grow longer, but it fell off the trellis, and now it’s a goner.”

“Apple Lady” sits amidst a bed of lang vegetables, her yellow shirt a bright contrast to the young green leaves. Her hands work swiftly to pluck the tender stems. The distant shot reveals a spacious, well-maintained garden lush with greenery.

She displays a freshly picked bunch of amaranth, still dewy, alongside pomelos growing to a good size, indicating the garden’s meticulous care.

“Basella alba will smoothen all the difficulties ahead,” she jokes, eliciting laughter with her reference to the film “Hương vị tình thân.”

“Mother Phuong Oanh” often shares the wonderful produce from her garden and delightful photos of herself posing amidst the flora, bringing joy to many.
