Once opposed to her friends’ decision to leave the city for the suburbs, Thanh Thao couldn’t help but laugh as she recalled: “At that time, my concept of success was to live in the center of an urban area. Moving away from that to the suburbs felt like a downgrade to me. But life is ever-changing, and so am I.” She refers to this decision as a completely new experience after more than 20 years of “floating in the air.”

The new living space of Doan Thanh Thao and Hoang Bach is designed with an open concept, fully connecting with nature through extended glass windows. The interior features a minimalist style with a warm earth-tone and white color palette, creating a relaxing and luxurious ambiance.

Former supermodel Doan Thanh Thao candidly shared that four years ago, she was strongly against the idea of moving out of the city center to the suburbs.

When her friends left the city, she was the first to voice her opposition. At one point, she even convinced those who had already moved to the suburbs to return to the city center.

However, when she herself decided to leave her penthouse of over 300 sq. m. in the city center for a house in the suburbs, many were surprised, even laughing, and asking: “Is Thao crazy?”

But according to this young lady from the Mekong Delta, each stage of life brings a different perspective, and with it, a shift in priorities and values.

Just about four years ago, her definition of success was living in a luxurious apartment in the heart of the city. Back then, leaving that space for the suburbs felt like a “demotion.”

Yet, life is full of changes, and she is no exception. Thanh Thao admits that she has done a “180-degree turn,” bringing her family down from the high-rise to a garden house in the suburbs.

She simply wanted to experience a different lifestyle, for herself and her children. After more than 20 years of “floating in the air,” Thao has finally come down to earth.

The surroundings of the new house fascinated her: the leisurely grazing cows under the trees, the fresh air, and a scene reminiscent of her hometown in the Mekong Delta.

It’s incredible that all of this is just 5km away from her old apartment. She described it as “so countrified,” and people couldn’t believe it.

She recalled that on her first visit to the land, she was instantly captivated. Partly because of its familiarity and partly because of the lake in front of it, which reminded her of her hometown. Thao immediately decided to purchase it without consulting her husband.

Initially, she thought she would have to convince her husband to live there, but to her surprise, when she took him to see the land, Hoang Bach loved it instantly because of the lake.

She was relieved that there was no “internal conflict,” so the family moved quite quickly. However, to start the construction as it is now, she had to go through many procedures due to her meticulous nature.

The former supermodel shared that this journey has also transformed a “girly girl” afraid of the sun into someone who embraces the ground and enjoys the exciting life experiences it offers.
