Normally, housewives just need to use pre-packaged crispy flour to marinate fish or seafood. However, to make the dish more flavorful, you can prepare some types of crispy flour for fish and seafood according to the following instructions:
This is considered the simplest way to make fried flour. The sticky flour made from mixed flour and water is suitable for thin fish fillets.
Method: In a bowl, mix 40g of flour, 4g of salt, and 120ml of water together and let this mixture sit for 30 minutes before starting to prepare the crispy fried fish dish.
If you want a crispy dish, you can use baking soda to prepare the fry batter.
How to do it: Combine 35g of wheat flour, 7g of baking soda, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Add 60ml of water and stir the mixture well. Once mixed, the dough should be used immediately.
Beer batter adds crunch and a unique flavor to dishes. You can use any type of beer you prefer to make beer batter. Crispy fried batter made with beer is perfect for fish and french fries. Additionally, if you don’t want the dish to have alcohol content, you can use soda water or sparkling mineral water as a substitute for beer.
How to do it: Pour ¾ cup of flour and ½ tablespoon of salt into a large bowl. Slowly pour in a glass of beer into the bowl, stirring with your hand until the mixture becomes smooth. Use immediately after the dough is mixed.
Adding egg whites to the batter helps it to rise and become fluffy. This type of flour creates a smooth and soft layer on the outside of the fish or seafood.
How to Make: Mix 35g of flour and a pinch of salt with 60ml of water, stir well and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Before starting to make the crispy fried dish, add 1 small egg white and mix well with the prepared flour mixture. Use the batter right after it is mixed.
– To achieve crispy fried dishes, it is important to adjust the temperature of the oil. During frying, only put a moderate amount of food into the pan, as adding too much at once will quickly decrease the oil temperature. After each batch of frying, wait for the oil to heat up again before adding more food.
Please note not to cook the outer layer too much. When the fried coating turns golden, the food must be immediately taken out. If the coating is burnt, the dish will have a bitter taste and will not be beneficial for health.
– In order to reduce the excess amount of cooking oil, the meat, fish, or seafood is fried on absorbent paper to absorb the excess oil.
You can use ¼ cup of cornstarch as a replacement for ¼ cup of all-purpose flour if you want the fried dish to be consistently crispy.
