1. Clothing/Wardrobe

Clothing has a high dust absorption ability, so even if it is stored in a wardrobe, you still need to regularly clean the wardrobe to remove dust and prevent it from spreading throughout the room. In addition to clothing, towels, hand towels, and other fabrics that we use regularly should also be collected and cleaned every week.

2. Kitchen Utensils/Cookware

Although our microwaves, refrigerators, or ovens may not look dirty, in reality, they are breeding grounds for unwanted bacteria. Therefore, they should be cleaned regularly.

3. Furniture

Whether it’s a desk, dining table, kitchen shelf, or bed, they all need to be dusted and cleaned at least once a week to prevent dust buildup. Failing to clean these areas regularly can result in poor air quality due to accumulated dirt and bacteria.

4. Carpet/Bathmat

A hot spot for dust accumulation that needs regular cleaning in the house is the carpet or bath mat. When washing these types of mats, you should wash them separately in a washing machine and disinfect the washing machine or hand wash them to prevent dirt and bacteria from spreading to other clothes.

You can refer to some simple and effective home carpet cleaning methods: Clean the carpet with baking soda, Clean the carpet with shaving gel and white vinegar, Wash the carpet with alcohol, Clean the carpet with cold stone, Wash the carpet with glass cleaner and iron, or use specialized cleaning equipment to wash the carpet…

Clean the carpet with baking soda

Using baking soda to wash the carpet is a cheap and safe solution for health and the environment. It also helps easily remove odors and stains.

How to do it:

– Sprinkle a large amount of baking soda on the stains.

– Spray hot water on the stains (pour hot water into a spray bottle).

– Let them sit for about 3 hours (ideally overnight).

– Cover with a damp cloth to prevent frequent misting of hot water.

– Then, use a vacuum cleaner to clean the carpet.

5. Bathtub/Showerhead

The bathtub and showerhead should be cleaned weekly because the high humidity and temperature in these areas will cause bacteria to grow quickly. They are also prone to unpleasant odors and reveal stubborn dirt.

Clean the bathtub

– Pour soap into a spray bottle, about 1/3 of the bottle. You can mix it in the right proportion for your own use.

– Then add vinegar in the same amount as the soap.

– Spray the vinegar and soap mixture all over the bathtub.

– Use a sea sponge to scrub. It is recommended to use a sea sponge for scrubbing because sea sponges are soft and foamy and will not scratch the porcelain surface.

– For a deeper clean: When the first layer of solution dries, lightly spray warm water around the bathtub using the showerhead, then repeat the vinegar and soap solution. Use a sea sponge to scrub multiple times.

– Rinse the bathtub with water.

– Dry with a clean cloth to make the bathtub shiny.

Clean the showerhead with white vinegar

You only need to take some white vinegar in a plastic bag and tie it tightly to the showerhead, keeping the vinegar bag there for a few hours. The vinegar contains acid, so it will automatically act on minerals and sticky substances on the showerhead, dissolving them. Then you can use a soft toothbrush to scrub gently and rinse with water.

6. Sink Basin

The sink basin with a mirror is another area prone to dust accumulation and should be cleaned every week to keep it clean and free from bacteria.

How to clean the sink basin: You just need to prepare some soap, sea sponge, and hot water. Note that you should choose a soft sea sponge, avoid choosing a metal sponge as it will scratch the surface of the basin. Pour a sufficient amount of soap into a small basin, then pour hot water into it, mix with a little cold water to create a warm soapy water mixture. Dip the sea sponge into the water and start washing the sink basin. Finally, rinse with warm water to make sure the sink basin is clean and shiny.

How to clean the mirror: The bathroom mirror is an item that is easily affected by humidity and dirt, making it blurry very quickly. Therefore, you need to pay attention to clean it regularly. When cleaning the mirror, first spray a small amount of glass cleaning solution on it, then use a clean cloth to wipe away the dirt on the mirror.

After removing all the dirt, use clean water to wipe it once again, then use a dry cloth to dry the mirror. Do not let the mirror dry on its own, as water droplets remaining on the mirror will leave unsightly marks.
