A cleaning cloth is an essential item for every household. While some families use old towels as cleaning cloths, others prefer to purchase low-cost towels specifically for cleaning purposes. Over time, these cleaning cloths can become very dirty and stained. Despite washing them with soap, it can be challenging to completely remove the stains.

Many people assume that their cleaning cloth cannot get any whiter or cleaner and end up throwing it away. However, there is a simple method to restore the cloth to its original condition before disposing of it.

Using soap alone is not enough to effectively clean the cloth as the dirt tends to cling tightly to the fabric. To overcome this, a few additional ingredients can be used to aid in removing the stains. These ingredients are not harmful chemicals and do not pose any risk to our hands or health. The necessary ingredients include:

  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Water (both cool and warm water)

To begin, mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with a bowl of water. Then, add white vinegar, dish soap, and a little warm water. Soak the cleaning cloth in this mixture for a few minutes, or longer if the cloth is heavily soiled. After soaking, gently squeeze the cloth with your hands. Most of the dirt should have softened and come off during the soaking process.
