Sleeplessness is one of the most uncomfortable things. Nobody wants to go to work the next morning with dark circles under their eyes and feeling tired.
This serious health issue turns out to be very common. Scientists estimate that about 30% to 35% of adults experience insomnia symptoms.
Dr. Luc P. Beaudoin from Simon Fraser University has discovered a simple and quick method to treat insomnia. With this technique, you can easily fall asleep as quickly as a baby.
The “Shuffle Mind” method
Dr. Luc named his method “Shuffle Mind,” referring to a technique involving imagining randomly generated easily visualized objects. This method disrupts your mind. You won’t think about the issues that keep you awake anymore.
How to practice the “Shuffle Mind” method
The practice of the “Shuffle Mind” method is very simple. You just need to think of a word with at least 5 letters, provided that it is emotionally neutral, such as the word “Ant.”
Then, you find and imagine the images of the new words formed from the letters in the original word. For example, with the word “Ant,” you would find and imagine the following objects:
– A cup
– Bee
– Nail
– Sewing needle
– Short I
– Frog
– Fairy
The important thing is not to think of any words that could evoke negative or stressful emotions. If you complete the task of finding new images from an initial word and still can’t fall asleep, repeat with a new word.
Does this method really work?
