Extending the Lifespan of Your Refrigerator

When it comes to storing a large quantity of perishable food items in the refrigerator, it is crucial to have excellent organizational skills to maximize the space and ensure optimal airflow. By strategically arranging the items and leaving appropriate gaps between them, you can promote better air circulation, resulting in reduced energy consumption.

The refrigerator is an electrical appliance that is constantly plugged into the power source day and night, lasting from one month to another, almost never resting. If used correctly, a refrigerator can save energy consumption and increase its longevity.
According to refrigeration experts, refrigerators should be placed in well-ventilated areas, avoiding tight corners, and the back and side walls of the refrigerator should be at least 10cm away from the wall to ensure heat dissipation. The more heat is transferred into the refrigerator, the more it will affect its cooling ability and consume more electricity.
When there is not much food stored in the refrigerator, it is advisable to adjust the cooling level to medium or low to save energy. Consumers should use a thermometer to check the temperature: for the refrigerating chamber, a temperature of 7-8 degrees Celsius is sufficient and there is no need to adjust the maximum cooling level. For the freezer, a temperature of -18 degrees Celsius is adequate instead of -22 degrees.

If there is a lot of food stored in the refrigerator, it should be arranged with careful calculation, leaving gaps for air circulation and reducing electricity consumption. It is not recommended to tightly pack food or overcrowd the compartments. Meats, fresh fish, etc., should be placed in steel or stainless-steel containers instead of plastic containers because metals conduct cold faster, reducing the time required for cooling and saving energy.

Avoid opening the refrigerator door continuously because when the door is opened, the cold air inside the refrigerator will quickly exchange with the hot air outside, causing the temperature inside the refrigerator to rise. In that case, the cooling component will have to work for a longer time, consuming more electricity and potentially damaging the refrigerator in the long run.

It is necessary to clean the refrigerator every 2-3 months to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold. Wiping the rubber seal around the refrigerator door carefully will help maintain its durability, ensuring a snug and airtight seal and preventing excessive loss of cold air.
