1Buy Combined Test Kits Instead of Individual Ones

Families and Companies Should Opt for Combined Testing

Combined Covid-19 testing is typically used for low-risk groups with similar epidemiological characteristics and located in the same area, such as families or companies. This method can help save costs by testing multiple samples together.

Instead of testing each person individually, you can combine three to five samples in one tube of solution and then perform the test on a test tray. Only if the tray shows a positive result do you need to test each person separately to identify the infected individual(s).

Buy in Bulk Instead of Individually

If you and your family need to test frequently, consider buying test kits in bulk instead of individually to benefit from wholesale prices and have enough kits for the long term.

This approach can result in significant savings.

2You Don’t Need to Test for Covid-19 Every Day

With the pandemic raging on, many people wonder how often they should get tested.

Medical experts advise that you only need to take a rapid Covid-19 test when exhibiting related symptoms such as sore throat, cough, fever, fatigue, etc., or if you’ve been in contact with an infected person (F0). There’s no need to test daily, as it can lead to unnecessary waste.

Additionally, daily rapid testing can cause discomfort, including watery eyes and a runny nose, and may affect your sense of smell. Hence, daily testing is not necessary.

3Purchase Covid-19 Test Kits from Reputable Sources

Due to the complex nature of the pandemic, social media platforms and e-commerce websites have been advertising and selling rapid Covid-19 test kits at inflated prices.

When buying online, opt for reputable pharmacies that are licensed and offer products approved by the Ministry of Health.

Buy test kits from trustworthy sources

Consumers should only purchase from websites registered or notified to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. These websites must provide comprehensive information, including details about the website owner (business name, address, phone number, tax code, etc.).

It’s best to visit reputable pharmacies in person to buy Covid-19 test kits to avoid buying fake or damaged products.

4Guidance for Testing F0 and Symptomatic Individuals

According to Lieutenant Colonel, Doctor Nguyen Huy Hoang of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Center under the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, Ministry of Defense:

If you exhibit symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat and suspect you have Covid-19, self-isolate at home and monitor your condition.

On the first day of symptoms, refrain from testing. The following day, perform a Covid-19 test, and if the result shows two lines, you are infected with SARS-CoV-2. However, if the test shows only one line, don’t be complacent—continue to self-isolate and monitor your condition.

On the next day, test again, and if the result is negative, wait for two more days and test once more. If it still shows one line, you can be confident that you are not infected.

On the other hand, if the initial test shows two lines, wait for six days and then test again. If the result is negative, you are on your way to recovery. However, if the T line is still faint, remain calm and retest in 2-3 days.
