What is Softener?
Softener, also known as fabric softener or fabric conditioner, is an essential component in washing machines. It is responsible for softening and conditioning fabrics during the washing process. Most washing machines, including both household and industrial models, feature a dedicated compartment for fabric softener.
How to use the Softener compartment
Modern washing machine models typically have separate compartments for detergent and fabric softener. To use the softener compartment, simply add the fabric softener to the designated area labeled “Softener” before starting the washing cycle. The amount of fabric softener added should be appropriate for the load size. However, it is recommended to only fill the compartment up to the MAX mark for one load.
Cleaning the Softener compartment
To maintain the quality of clothes after washing and prolong the lifespan of the machine, it is crucial to clean the Softener compartment regularly. Cleaning should be done once a month, along with other compartments for detergent and cleaning agents.
Step 1: Remove the Softener compartment, as well as other compartments, from the washing machine for easier cleaning.
Step 2: Thoroughly clean the surface of the compartment to remove any dirt or residue that has accumulated over time.
Step 3: Use a small brush to clean the water storage compartment, both the upper and lower parts.
Step 4: Clean the water drainage holes in the detergent drawer and put the compartments back in their original positions.
