According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training’s schedule, from June 9 to 22, the examination boards will grade multiple-choice tests. From June 11 to 22, they will grade essay tests.
From July 4 to 6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the exam scores for each subject on the Department’s e-portal and the city’s high school entrance portal. During this time, the department will also announce the admission thresholds for each school.
As per the guidelines, after receiving their scores, students who have concerns about their grades in any subject can submit an appeal for re-grading. The appeal form should be submitted to the District Department of Education before July 10.
On July 17, the Department of Education and Training and specialized high schools will meet to review and approve supplementary admission thresholds for public high schools (if applicable). From July 19 to 22, schools will organize enrollment confirmation and receive applications for supplementary admissions (if applicable).
One notable change in this year’s grade 10 entrance exam is the adjustment in the admission score calculation method. Instead of multiplying the Math and Literature scores by 2, as in previous years, the 2025 admission score will be the sum of the scores in three subjects (Math, Literature, and English), each scored on a scale of 10 without any multipliers. This change aims to ensure fairness among subjects and encourage students to study all subjects evenly.
The formula for calculating the admission score (AS) for non-specialized public high schools in Hanoi in 2025 is as follows:
AS = Math score + Literature score + English score + priority points (if any) + incentive points (if any).
