Many car enthusiasts believe that pouring oil into the exhaust pipe of a motorcycle will create a popping noise and a smoke effect. Others claim that using oil in the exhaust pipe will result in a quieter engine noise and a more durable bike…
However, according to technicians, when pouring oil directly into the exhaust pipe and using the bike, the exhaust pipe will produce a louder noise. Additionally, more smoke will be emitted.
Engine oil contains various additives, lubricants, and sticky substances. When oil is poured into the exhaust pipe, it partially hinders the formation of rust on the grille. However, over time, pouring oil into the exhaust pipe will cause more dust, dirt, and residues to accumulate, resulting in louder popping noises and more smoke.

Furthermore, pouring too much oil into the exhaust pipe also causes oil to flow into the exhaust sensor, damaging the sensor if the owner does not know how to clean it. This will significantly affect the bike’s performance. Moreover, certain types of oil, especially old oil, can clog and damage the exhaust pipe.
Therefore, bike owners should limit the practice of pouring oil into motorcycle exhaust pipes to avoid unwanted damage to the exhaust pipe.
