Use specialized cleaning agents

Dishwashing liquid and kitchen cleaning agents are the easiest to buy and use if you do not have a habit of cleaning regularly.

With dishwashing liquid, you just need to use 1 spoon, mix with 500ml of water, put it in a spray bottle, shake well and spray directly on the entire surface of the quartz stone or the area you need to clean. Use a cloth soaked in warm water to wipe the area you just sprayed to clean. Then, continue to use a damp cloth to wipe again like the previous step. Finally, use a dry cloth to wipe thoroughly once again to restore the shine of the kitchen countertop.

Note: Do not use dishwashing liquid made from lemon, vinegar, or orange as the acid will corrode the kitchen countertops.

With the types of kitchen cleaning agents, the process of cleaning kitchen countertops will be extremely simple because they contain strong active ingredients that can remove stubborn dirt stains such as grease, soy sauce, etc. You just need to spray the kitchen cleaning agent on the stone surface and then use a warm cloth to wipe once again to complete the cleaning process.

Quick guide to clean kitchen countertops with baking soda

Baking soda is a common and convenient material for cleaning kitchen countertops, but it should not be overused because some types of stones such as marble can react with the alkaline in baking soda.

The implementation is very simple: Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on the stone surface, gently rub with a soft cloth, then wipe this area with water and then wipe it dry carefully. Water is essential to neutralize the pH, ensuring that the baking soda residue does not remain or affect the stone surface.

Use denatured alcohol

Denatured alcohol helps to clean yellow stains on artificial stone surfaces. Alcohol or spirits with a concentration of over 50% will remove dry and hard stains. However, you should not overuse alcohol as it will corrode the stone.

When cleaning, dip a soft cloth into alcohol and apply it to the dry stains, wipe it several times. The stains will quickly disappear. Use a dry cloth and clean water to wipe again to remove any remaining alcohol.

Use hydrogen peroxide

For small, newly appeared stains caused by food or drinks, hydrogen peroxide can be helpful. However, note that hydrogen peroxide has strong cleaning properties, so you need to dilute it with water before cleaning the kitchen countertop.

The process of cleaning kitchen countertops with hydrogen peroxide: Mix hydrogen peroxide and water in a 1:1 ratio; soak a cotton ball or soft cloth in the diluted solution and squeeze it out, apply it to the stain and cover it with plastic wrap. You can place a flat board on top to fix it.

Leave it overnight for 8-10 hours and then remove the plastic wrap, rinse with water. If the yellow stains are still not completely removed, you can repeat the process 1-2 times until the surface is completely clean. This method is suitable for light-colored stone.

Notes when using kitchen countertops

In addition to cleaning to maintain the aesthetics of the kitchen, if you want to extend the lifespan of the stone surface, you must also know how to use and take care of it properly.

– Limit direct cutting on the stone surface: The advantage of artificial stone is its stable hardness and optimal scratch resistance. However, that does not mean you can freely chop and cut directly on the surface because over time, the stone surface will have scratches, affecting the aesthetics. Dirt sticking to the scratches will be difficult to clean, causing you to spend extra fees for maintenance and polishing. In all cases, always use a chopping board to handle food.

– Use a heat-insulating pad: Many people have a habit of placing newly cooked pots and pans directly on the kitchen countertop. If you regularly come into contact with high sudden temperatures, the stone material will have a reduced lifespan. This is one of the causes of yellowing on the surface.

– Do not place the kitchen countertop in an area with direct sunlight: Direct sunlight will fade the color of the kitchen countertop, and in the long term, it will crack.

– Do not use brushes or pot scrubbers to scrub the kitchen countertop, avoiding causing scratches on the stone surface.
