For prepaid subscribers, your Vinaphone SIM card must be registered under your name and be active for two-way communication on the Vinaphone network.

As for postpaid subscribers, your contract with the network provider must have expired, and you should not have any outstanding bills. Additionally, your SIM card needs to be active for two-way communication.

Transferring a Prepaid Vinaphone SIM Card

Where to go for the transfer: Any Vinaphone transaction point across the country.

Required documents:

Original ID card or government-issued identification for both the current and new owners. If the new owner is a foreigner, they must provide their CCCD (Temporary Residence Card) or passport.

The current owner should also bring the SIM card they wish to transfer and be prepared to provide additional information, such as frequently contacted numbers, services used, current account balance, and recent top-up cards.

There is no charge for transferring a prepaid SIM card. However, if you wish to replace the SIM card, there is a fee of 25,000 VND.

Vinaphone will only process the transfer if the SIM card is registered under the current owner’s name, as per Government Decree 49.

For prepaid subscribers: All remaining balances in your accounts and any Vinaphone promotions you were enjoying will remain valid after the transfer.
