1 Materials
-
1 bottle of white glue.
-
1 compass.
-
1 pair of scissors.
-
1 ruler.
-
Twine for gift wrapping.
-
4 thin A4-sized colored paper sheets (choose your favorite colors).
2 Instructions
Step 1: First, use the compass to measure and draw circles with a 5 cm radius on the colored paper. On average, you can draw 5-6 circles on one sheet, but it is recommended to draw only 3-4 circles to make cutting easier.
Step 2: Next, cut out the circles and fold them in half. Then, from the folded edge, fold the circle in half again, as shown in the image below.
Step 3: From the pointed corner of the paper, fold up a small section. Do the same on the back and with the remaining circles.
Step 4: When you unfold the circle, you will notice distinct creases. Each circle will have approximately five creases. Apply glue to the two creases adjacent to the central crease, being careful not to use too much glue to prevent the paper from becoming soggy.
Step 5: Glue the two faces of the paper together and allow it to dry. Once dry, apply glue to the outermost left, middle, and right creases on the outside of the paper and attach another piece on top. Continue gluing and layering the remaining pieces in the same manner.
Step 6: Apply glue to connect the two ends of the paper. Once the glue is completely dry, open up the paper to reveal a spherical shape resembling a berry.
Step 7: Finally, cut a piece of twine to a suitable length, fold it in half, and tie a knot. Insert the loop into the center of the lantern.
