1 What is Stomach Grass?
What is stomach grass?
Stomach grass, also referred to as lingzhi herb, is a unique plant that has not yet received an official name. Mr. Huynh Sau, a 63-year-old resident of Han Mac Tu Street in Vi Da Ward, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province, with 20 years of experience in herbal medicine, discovered and named this plant after studying and researching its properties.
Mr. Sau noticed its resemblance to the lingzhi herb, although he couldn’t be sure. The plant’s characteristics and medicinal properties led him to this conclusion. The unusual plant he discovered grows in clusters and bears flowers with only one bud. The most distinctive feature of this plant is that it secretes a significant amount of mucus on its flowers and leaves. According to Mr. Sau, it is this mucus that aids in lubrication and digestion, thereby helping to alleviate and cure stomach ailments.
2 Medicinal Properties of Stomach Grass
True to its name, the primary benefit of stomach grass is its ability to treat stomach and chronic gastric ailments.
To harness its healing properties, simply chop up the leaves, rinse them, and chew them raw every morning. Men should chew seven leaves at a time, while women should chew nine, as per the traditional folk remedy shared by Mr. Sau.
Interestingly, when using stomach grass as a cure, one must refrain from providing any explanations to the patient. Simply give them the leaves and instruct them to chew them raw, without offering any clarification even if they have questions. This is considered a folk “tip.” Consistency is key; regular chewing of the leaves for 1-2 weeks is said to bring about healing.
