Protect Your Hands
First and foremost, protecting your hands from harmful elements is crucial. When venturing out in cold weather, don gloves to shield your hands from the bitter wind and dirt. Additionally, those working in high-temperature environments or with chemicals, water, or hair (such as hairdressers, chefs, and cleaners) should don specialized rubber gloves to prevent dryness and cracking.

Moisturize
Moisturizing is an essential step in caring for dry hands. After each hand wash, immediately apply moisturizer to replenish lost moisture. When choosing a hand cream, look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, ceramide, and vitamins E and B5. These components quickly hydrate, soften skin, and leave no greasy residue. For severely dry hands, consider products containing vegetable oils, shea butter, or vaseline for long-lasting hydration.
Diet
Stay hydrated by drinking 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily, and incorporate plenty of vegetables and fruits, especially those rich in vitamins A, C, E, and omega-3. These vitamins nourish your skin from within, promoting smooth and supple skin.
Natural Hand Care
You can also turn to natural ingredients like coconut oil, honey, and aloe vera to moisturize your hands. These substances possess hydrating, skin-softening, and cell-regenerating properties.
Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel, readily available over the counter, can be applied directly to the skin as a natural moisturizer. Massage the gel onto your hands for a few minutes. Alternatively, mix it with honey for a thicker consistency before application.
Sugar or Rice
Raw sugar or uncooked rice grains are gentle abrasives that remove dead, flaky skin from dry hands without causing further damage or irritation. Mix either ingredient with honey to form a paste, then gently scrub your hands in a circular motion for a few minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow up with a hand cream.
However, if your dry hands persist and show signs of severe cracking, consult a dermatologist for professional advice.
