The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced the schedule for the 2025 high school entrance examination grading process. From June 9 to June 22, the department’s examination council will grade the multiple-choice tests, while the essay tests will be graded from June 11 to June 22.
The exam scores will be published on the department’s website and the city’s primary education portal from July 4 to July 6. The minimum admission scores for each school will also be announced during this period.
Students who are concerned about their scores can request a re-evaluation by submitting an application to the Department of Education and Training before July 10.
On July 17, the Department of Education and Training, along with specialized high schools and public high schools, will hold a meeting to review and approve the minimum admission scores for the 2025-2026 academic year. From July 19 to July 22, schools will organize confirmation of enrollment and receive applications from admitted students.
One notable change in this year’s enrollment process is the adjustment in the calculation of the admission score. Unlike previous years, where Math and Literature scores were doubled; in 2025, the admission score will be the sum of the scores in Math, Literature, and Foreign Language, with each subject weighted equally on a scale of 10. This change aims to ensure fairness among subjects and encourage students to excel in all areas.
The formula for calculating the admission score (AS) for public non-specialized high schools in Hanoi in 2025 is as follows:
AS = Math score + Literature score + Foreign Language score + priority points (if any) + encouragement points (if any)
