Coffee beans. Coffee beans can help eliminate stubborn odors like onions, garlic, or curry. After thoroughly cleaning the plastic container, put some coffee beans in it and close the lid. Let it sit for a few hours, then open the lid and the unpleasant odor will be gone.
Old newspaper. Crumple up some old newspaper and place it inside the cleaned plastic container, then close the lid and leave it overnight. The next morning, you will find that the container no longer has any unpleasant food odors.
Charcoal. Wrap a piece of charcoal in a thin cloth and place it in the plastic container. Close the lid tightly and leave it for at least 6 hours. The charcoal will help absorb any lingering odors in the plastic container.
Fresh lime. To remove stubborn grease stains in the plastic container, cut a slice of fresh lime and rub it all over the inside of the container. This will help get rid of the unpleasant odor as well as remove any grease residue.
Baking soda. Mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water to create a thick paste. Use this paste to coat the inside of the container and leave it overnight. The next day, rinse it with clean water, and all the grease stains and unpleasant odor in the container will be gone.
Store in the refrigerator. After thoroughly cleaning the plastic container and drying it, remove the lid and place it in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator for at least 6 hours. This will ensure that any lingering odor in the container is eliminated.
