According to statistics for the first eight months of 2021, pepper exports are estimated to reach over 197,000 tons, valued at $654.6 million, a 2.3% decrease in volume but a significant 47.6% increase in value compared to the same period in 2020.

Pepper prices in the domestic market today are trading at 73,000 – 77,000 VND/kg in the key growing areas.
Specifically, the latest pepper prices in the following provinces are:
Dong Nai: 73,000 VND/kg
Gia Lai, the lowest in the market: 73,500 VND/kg
Dak Lak and Dak Nong: 74,500 VND/kg
Binh Phuoc: 75,500 VND/kg
Ba Ria – Vung Tau, the highest: 77,000 VND/kg
According to Dan Viet, the average export price of Vietnamese pepper in August 2021 reached $3,736/ton, the highest since January 2018, a 3.4% increase compared to July 2021, and a remarkable 49.4% surge compared to August 2020.
For the first eight months of 2021, the average export price of Vietnamese pepper reached $3,321/ton, a 51.1% increase compared to the same period in 2020.

Malaysian black pepper prices have quadrupled, while Indonesian white pepper prices have doubled since last season. Specifically, Malaysian black pepper prices are currently at 18.5 ringgit/kg, four times higher than the same period last year. Similarly, white pepper prices in the market have also increased significantly, ranging from 26 to 28 ringgit/kg.
White pepper prices in western Indonesia continue to rise, reaching 76,000 rupees/kg, or approximately 5.2 USD/kg. According to statistics, this figure has doubled compared to the previous period.
Malaysian black pepper prices have quadrupled, while Indonesian white pepper prices have doubled.
