Alongside Facebook, Twitter is also a widely popular global social networking site. However, the way Twitter is used is somewhat simpler compared to Facebook, and the main language is English, which makes it unfamiliar to many people. Let’s take a look at how to create a Twitter account in a very simple way below!
What is Twitter?
Similar to Facebook and Instagram, Twitter is also a social networking site created to help users connect and share information. Twitter is widely used in the United States due to its high level of information security. In addition, its simple usage and curated information are major advantages that make Twitter highly rated compared to the social media giant Facebook.
Twitter first appeared in 2006 (now known as X) and quickly became a popular social networking site worldwide. Both Kpop and US UK fandoms nowadays often launch hashtag campaigns (trend hashtags) on Twitter to demonstrate the influence of idols, rather than doing it on Facebook.
Benefits of creating a Twitter account
Connect with the community
Because Twitter is a social networking site with hundreds of millions of users worldwide, you can find many users of the same age group and interests, with many common points to make friends and interact. Twitter is even highly regarded over Facebook in terms of community connection because the homepage of this site displays posts from others from any country for you to see, comment, and retweet as desired. Twitter also allows you to join groups and follow accounts that you are interested in.
Interact with global celebrities
It’s no exaggeration to say that many people create Twitter accounts just to “stalk idols” because while China has Weibo, Korea has SNS, and the US and Europe have Twitter. These are the social networking sites that celebrities often use to update their status, schedule, and daily selfies. Adding to the trend of wanting to become “global idols” like BTS and BlackPink, many Kpop idols have now switched to creating content on Twitter. So by joining Twitter, you will be able to follow almost all idols both at home and abroad.
Discover new ideas based on interests
After creating a Twitter account, you will be recommended content based on your interests, preferences, or famous people that you admire. You can also search for desired content by entering keywords in the search bar. In the following days, you will find a lot of content that Twitter has filtered and deemed suitable for you.
Stay updated on global events
Because Twitter is widely used in the United States and Europe, which have the most developed economies in the world, global hot topics in various fields such as sports, health, and politics are also frequently updated on Twitter. Creating a Twitter account means that you will know what is happening in the world. The hottest topics in the Western world are also updated in a timely manner.
An effective method to learn English
Twitter is used by many Americans and Europeans, and even the countries in Asia that use Twitter the most, like Japan, India, and Indonesia, also use English as the communication language. English is the only language that can connect a community of millions of Twitter users. And if you create a Twitter account, you will see much more English content than Vietnamese content.
Through connecting, exchanging, commenting, and retweeting, you will learn many common English words and the slang of the Gen Z in the home country.

That’s right, Twitter is indeed X, because after the acquisition deal of Twitter for $44 billion by billionaire Elon Musk, Twitter has officially been renamed X with a black logo, no longer the blue bird symbol like before. Elon has also laid off many former Twitter employees to restructure the company and make the social networking site more positive.
Users who have created Twitter accounts can still log in to X as usual, your data is still retained, and the functions of Twitter are the same as before.
