Pyke TFT is a 2-cost unit that packs a devastating punch despite its low cost. The Pyke Hacker Super Hero composition in TFT Set 8.5 may seem peculiar but delivers unexpected results. In this article, FPT Shop will guide you on playing the Pyke Hacker Super Hero composition with its unstoppable lifestealing ability.

Overview of the Hacker Trait

The Hacker Trait in Set 8.5 functions similarly to previous Set Traits such as Draconic or Revenant, sharing a common mechanic of summoning a special unit onto the battlefield after reaching certain thresholds. However, the Hacker Trait’s capabilities go beyond these, allowing it to serve as a potential replacement for the Assassin Trait, which was retired to the dismay of many players.

Specifically, upon reaching the activation threshold, Hackers gain Omnivamp and summon H4ckerr!m (Hecarim) onto the battlefield, creating a Hacker space that allows this Warhorse to send any unit standing on it to the enemy team’s backline at the start of combat, a signature move commonly seen from Assassins in previous Sets. Units sent to the enemy backline and Hecarim himself are untargetable for the first 2 seconds of combat.

  • (3): +10% Omnivamp for Hackers.
  • (4): +20% Omnivamp for Hackers, +15% for Hecarim.
  • (5): +40% Omnivamp for Hackers, +30% for Hecarim.

List of Champions in the Hacker Trait

Pyke (Void Reaver / Hacker / 2-cost)

Ability: Pyke TFT stabs an enemy, dealing true damage, and summoning a Phantom at his current location before dashing behind the furthest enemy. After 1 second, the Phantom returns to Pyke’s position, stunning for 1.5 seconds and dealing magic damage to all enemies in its path.

Ability Stats:

  • True damage dealt: 90 / 135 / 210.
  • Enemy stun duration: 1.5 / 1.75 / 2.

LeBlanc (A.D.M.I.N / Hacker/ Mage / 3-cost)

LeBlanc throws a magical Sigil toward her target, with each Sigil dealing magic damage to the enemy it hits. If the target is killed, LeBlanc throws the remaining Sigils at the nearest target.

Shen (Galactic Protectors / Vanguard / Hacker / 3-cost)

Overview of Pyke TFT’s Power in Set 8.5

In the PBE version of TFT Set 8.5, Pyke as a carry was a frustratingly OP composition, leading Riot Games to nerf his base stats and ability before the official release. In the live version, Pyke has been toned down a bit, making it challenging for him to 1v9 as before, but he is still a viable pick for climbing the ladder, especially when paired with Super Heroes – a Trait that remains a key component in reroll compositions.

Itemization for Pyke TFT in Set 8.5

If you choose Pyke TFT as your primary carry, equipping him with the Jeweled Gauntlet, Giant Slayer, and Hextech Gunblade is highly recommended. The Jeweled Gauntlet grants Pyke critical strike chance, ability power, and allows his ability to critically strike. The Giant Slayer and Hextech Gunblade enhance his damage output and healing capabilities, making him a formidable force in combat.

The Unstoppable Lifestealing Pyke with Hacker Super Heroes Composition

The advantage of this composition is that it doesn’t require Pyke’s Hero Augment, though using one to upgrade Pyke TFT early is still beneficial. The most important factor is to secure the Hacker’s Crest or Voidborne Crest to complete your composition early on and activate the Trait and Origin thresholds quickly. So if you find these Crests early, consider implementing this composition into your match.

In the early game, you can deploy Super Hero units and Lulu for defense and health preservation, or any other composition that maintains your health.

Your primary goal is to rush level 6 as quickly as possible to reroll and reach 3-star for your Super Hero units and Pyke TFT within your composition. Afterward, proceed to level 7 and reroll to obtain 3-star for 3-cost Hacker units like Shen and LeBlanc.

Once you’ve reached 3-star with the essential units, primarily the 2-cost units in your composition, you can level up early to level 8 and spend gold to ensure LeBlanc and Shen reach 3-star at this stage. After achieving your 3-star goal for your core units, you can implement the final composition as follows:

Both the Hacker’s Crest and Voidborne Crest are crucial in this composition since one Crest can be equipped to one of your 3-star units like Zac, making him tankier while allowing you to remove Jhin from your lineup. The remaining Crest will amplify Pyke TFT’s lifestealing potential, so try to prioritize Cores that grant these Crests. In optimal conditions

Frequently asked questions

The Hacker Trait activates when you have a certain number of Hacker champions in your team composition. Once the threshold is met, your Hackers gain Omnivamp, and Hecarim is summoned to the battlefield, creating a Hacker space. This allows Hecarim to send an enemy unit to the backline at the start of combat, mimicking an Assassin’s signature move. Both Hackers and Hecarim are untargetable for the first 2 seconds of their deployment.

The Hacker Trait offers significant advantages in damage and survivability. With 3 Hackers, the team gains +10% Omnivamp. At 4 Hackers, they receive +20% Omnivamp, and Hecarim’s Omnivamp increases by +15%. The full power of this Trait is unlocked with 5 Hackers, granting +40% Omnivamp to the team, and boosting Hecarim’s Omnivamp to +30%. This trait is an excellent alternative to the retired Assassin Trait.

In Set 8.5, there are three unique champions that belong to the Hacker Trait: Pyke, a 2-cost champion, LeBlanc (3-cost), and Shen, also a 3-cost champion. Each of these champions brings their own distinct abilities and traits to enhance the composition’s strength.

Pyke is an incredibly powerful champion. His primary ability involves stabbing an enemy, dealing 90-210 true damage, and summoning a Phantom. After dashing behind the furthest enemy, the Phantom returns to stun the enemy and deals 180-405 magic damage. Pyke also has access to Hero Augments like Cutthroat and Small Stage Hunter, which provide additional copies of himself and increase his damage output.

LeBlanc, the Hacker Mage, has a magical Sigil attack. She throws Sigils at her targets, each dealing 75-135 magic damage. If a target is killed, she will throw the remaining Sigils at the nearest enemy. Her Hero Augments include ‘Mirage’, which creates a copy of an ally with reduced health, and ‘Exposé Weakness’, which grants an extra LeBlanc and additional Sigils for every 3 Sigils cast.

Shen has a defensive ability called ‘Spirit Bond’. He bonds with the ally who dealt the most damage in the previous round, making them invulnerable and transferring all damage they take to himself. Shen’s Hero Augments are ‘Temporal Blade’, which reduces the mana cost of his ability and grants true damage, and ‘Recursive Matrix’, which provides damage resistance to the entire team, with a significant boost after allies cast their abilities.

Pyke was initially overpowered in the PBE version, which led to some nerfs. However, he remains a strong and effective pick, especially when combined with Super Heroes. While he may not single-handedly carry the game, Pyke is excellent for climbing the ranked ladder and is a key component in reroll compositions.

For Pyke as your primary carry, we recommend Jeweled Gauntlet, Giant Slayer, and Hextech Gunblade. These items not only enhance his damage output but also improve his critical strike chance and healing capabilities, making him a force to be reckoned with in combat.

The Hacker Super Hero composition has the benefit of not relying on Pyke’s Hero Augment. The strategy focuses on quickly reaching level 6 to reroll for 3-star Super Heroes and Pyke. Afterward, you level up to 7 to obtain 3-star Hacker units. Securing Hacker’s or Voidborne Crests early on is crucial to completing this composition successfully.
