1 Gather the Supplies
- 1 plastic crate
- 4 plastic pipes
- 4 plastic cups
- Knife or scissors to puncture holes in the crate and cups
- Candle wax
- Glue gun
- Sewing kit
- Ice
2 How to Make Your Own Air Conditioner
Step 1: Puncture holes in the bottom of 4 cups. The holes should be the same size as the plastic pipes. Then, puncture 4 holes on the sides of the crate (all on the same level, about 10cm from the top of the crate) as shown in the image below.
Step 2: Secure 2 of the punctured cups to the front half of the fan cage using a needle and thread.
Step 3: Remove the fan blades and attach 2 plastic pipes to the back of the fan cage. Secure the pipes to the cage with a needle and thread.
Step 4: Reattach the fan blades and the front half of the fan cage (with the cups attached) as you would normally assemble the fan.
Step 5: Using the remaining 2 plastic pipes, attach them to the holes in the bottom of the cups that are already attached to the fan cage. Secure the pipes to the cups with a glue gun.
Step 6: Insert the other ends of the 4 plastic pipes into the 4 holes in the crate. Then, attach the remaining 2 cups with holes to the 2 pipe ends (these pipes are attached to the back of the fan cage) and secure them with a glue gun.
Use the glue gun to also secure the other 2 pipe ends to the holes in the crate.
Step 7: Pour water and add some ice to the crate. Then, close the lid to keep the cold air inside. And there you have it—your very own DIY air conditioner!
Note: Only pour in a moderate amount of water, just enough to cover the 4 holes in the crate.
3 The Finished Product
Finally, turn on the fan and enjoy the cool breeze created by your very own DIY air conditioner!
There you have it—your very own unique and cooling air conditioner. We hope that with these simple steps, you can create a one-of-a-kind, cooling fan for your family. Good luck and happy crafting!
