A social media post earlier shared an account of a ‘disastrous tourism experience’, alleging that a group of tourists was abandoned on Ti-top Island. The post claimed that the tour company failed to account for all their passengers and did not notice one passenger missing until they were already back at the port. Efforts to contact the company were reportedly futile, with the provided phone number being unreachable.

Ti-top Island in Ha Long Bay

According to initial information, on June 16, the QN 926x ship carried 99 individual passengers to Ti-top Island for a tour. However, when it was time to depart, the ship could not locate one of the passengers and inadvertently left without them. The ship staff failed to notice the missing passenger until they had already returned to the port.

“We learned that the ship arranged for another vessel to go back and pick up the stranded passenger from Ti-top Island. We have not received any direct complaints from the affected passenger but are aware of the incident through social media and reports from other ship teams,” shared the management of Ha Long Bay.

It is understood that the ship owner and captain have since apologized to the affected passenger. The authorities are currently investigating the incident and will take appropriate action.
