Nourish Your Hands
Cooking and cleaning can take a toll on your hands, leaving them dry and rough. But worry not! Simply use the inside of an orange or tangerine peel to rub on your hands, and notice the significant difference in softness.
Eliminate Unpleasant Odors
Known for their antibacterial properties, orange and tangerine peels can be cut into small pieces and dried to use as a natural disinfectant for your living space, while also keeping mosquitoes at bay.
If your refrigerator is emitting an unpleasant odor, simply place a piece of dried tangerine peel inside. Similarly, if you’re using charcoal for warmth or cooking and are bothered by the smell, toss a few pieces of dried orange or tangerine peel into the fire, and notice the significant reduction in charcoal odor.
Make Your Faucets Shine
Over time, faucets can become dull and lose their shine. Bring back their sparkle by using orange or tangerine peels to wipe down the surfaces. This natural cleaner will leave your faucets looking brand new and sparkling clean.
Clean Wooden Floors
Wooden floors can be prone to musty odors, especially during rainy seasons. To combat this, boil orange peels and dilute the solution with water. Use this mixture to mop your floors, and enjoy the shiny, sweet-smelling results.
Face Mask
Create a nourishing face mask by combining orange peel with yogurt. First, thoroughly clean the orange peel with salt to remove any bacteria. Then, blend the peel until smooth, and add a spoonful of yogurt, a few drops of lemon juice, and a spoonful of honey. Mix well and apply the mask to your face after cleansing with warm water.
Leave the mask on for about an hour, then rinse with cold water. The orange peel face mask will remove dirt and dead skin cells, revealing fresh and glowing skin.
Natural Cleaner
Create a natural cleaning solution by adding orange peels to a bottle or jar. Add two spoons of food-grade lye and fill the container with water. Secure the lid tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for one to two weeks. After this infusion period, use this eco-friendly cleaner on your dishes, enjoying the pleasant orange scent it leaves behind.
Alternatively, blend 20g of fresh, chopped orange peel with half a liter of water and 15ml of alcohol. Pour this mixture into a bottle along with 15ml of alcohol, and shake well. Use this solution to wash your dishes as you normally would. While it may not produce suds like regular dish soap, it effectively removes grease and is gentle on your hands and safe for your family.
