I reached out to a cleaning expert, and she shared a brilliant hack to easily remove stains from corners and tight spaces without the need for harsh steel wool. With just three inexpensive items, you can effectively tackle dirt and grime, ensuring no spot is left untouched!

It turns out that the black mold and grime buildup in these areas are often due to the use of large amounts of glass adhesive during installation. To prevent water leakage, installers use this adhesive to secure sinks and toilets, but over time, in a humid environment, the adhesive can become moldy and discolored. Replacing it can be costly, so today I’ll share a cost-effective DIY solution.

1. Caulking

Caulk is a versatile sealant with excellent waterproofing properties. Simply purchase white caulk and apply it to the discolored adhesive. It will effectively remove the stains and, once dry, will look no different from the original adhesive. Caulk also helps brighten the sealed areas, making them appear brand new.

Additionally, caulk’s waterproofing abilities surpass those of regular adhesive, effectively preventing secondary mold buildup along sink edges. With caulk, you won’t need to repeatedly wipe down these areas, making it a fantastic cleaning aid! However, caulk is best suited for small areas of mold and discoloration. For larger mold problems, another solution is necessary.

2. Mold Removal Gel

When dealing with extensive mold coverage, turn to mold removal gel. This product not only effectively removes mold but also inhibits secondary mold growth. Simply apply the gel to the affected areas, wait for about 10 minutes to allow it to react with the mold, and then wipe it off with a damp cloth. It’s that easy!

3. Anti-mold Strips

Anti-mold strips offer the easiest solution to mold removal and are perfect for use around sinks and stoves. Simply peel and stick them over the affected areas, instantly covering up any mold or discoloration. Subsequent cleaning is a breeze—gently wipe the strips with a damp cloth to remove any accumulated dirt. Moreover, these strips are highly waterproof, ensuring no leaks occur when applied around toilets.

There you have it—three effective cleaning methods to tackle mold and grime. Be sure to keep these tips in mind for your next deep cleaning session!
