In reality, home decorations tend to lose their appeal after a month or two. Nowadays, I keep decorations to a minimum and only place them in key areas. Additionally, having fewer decorations means less hassle when it comes to cleaning and a reduced workload overall.

2. Ditch the Folding and Hang Your Clothes Instead
Previously, I spent at least ten to twenty minutes each day folding clothes after drying them and putting them away. On weekends, I also had to tidy up the wardrobe as the stacked clothes would easily get messy. So, when I moved to a new place, I decided to get rid of the wardrobe and just use a hanging rack.
Now, I simply hang my clothes after drying them, which is much quicker. For off-season clothes, I use a chest of drawers. The hanging rods in the wardrobe are adjustable to suit my needs.

When it comes to plants, I’m conflicted. On the one hand, they can bring a space to life, but on the other hand, they can be high-maintenance. In the past, we bought various plants of different sizes online. While they looked great initially, they didn’t last long.
So, we’ve become more cautious about buying plants for our new home. This time, I’ve opted for small potted plants that are low-maintenance. Gradually, I’ve discovered that these small potted plants add a unique, elegant touch to our space.
If you’re not a plant expert, opt for small potted plants that are easy to care for instead of large, cumbersome ones. These small potted plants cost only 50-100 thousand dong.
7. One Central Trash Can is Enough
In the past, I had trash cans in every room – in the kitchen, bathroom, and living room. Each night before bed, I spent about 10 minutes emptying and replacing the bags. If I forgot, the whole house would smell.
When I moved to my new place, the first thing I bought was a multi-layered trash can for the kitchen. This trash can makes it easier to sort trash. I also have a separate trash can in the bathroom for feminine hygiene products.
Family members have also gotten used to throwing trash in the kitchen trash can, making it easier to manage.

– Toss broken toys: My husband and I got rid of toys that were no longer usable, such as cars with broken wheels or doors, and severely damaged toys.
– Buy fewer toys: Our experience with broken toys taught us that we had been too careless in buying toys for our children. In our new home, we decided to buy fewer duplicate toys and focus on quality by choosing reputable toy brands.
– Create designated storage spaces: We also established logical storage areas to easily manage and organize the toys, making our living space neater.
Thanks to these measures, our new home is now more organized and comfortable.

9. Embrace the Convenience of Disposable Cleaning Tools
After years of use, I’ve realized that traditional cleaning cloths aren’t as effective as they used to be. When they get dirty, they not only need to be washed but also tend to retain unpleasant odors when wiping surfaces. No matter where they’re stored, they always feel grimy.
In contrast, disposable cleaning cloths are affordable and incredibly convenient. After use, you can simply throw them away without the hassle of washing them, saving time and effort. Nowadays, I’ve switched to using various disposable cleaning tools, such as kitchen towels and face towels, for multiple purposes. This not only saves costs but is also environmentally friendly and reduces the burden of laundry.
In summary, getting rid of unnecessary chores has made my life much easier and more relaxed.
